Human Resource Management Department

The Department of Human Resources Management is an academic department started in 2011. It is among the four (4) academic departments at LGTI, other departments are community development department, local government accounting and finance department and local government administration and management department. The department is charged with the following responsibilities.

  1. Teaching academic programs in the department at Certificate to Bachelor levels.
  2. Undertaking research that will eventually help in solving problems related to human resources management in Tanzanian local government authorities.
  3. Providing consultancy services to local government authorities and the public in general.
  4. Conducting short courses to local government authorities and to the general public.

Program Offered under Human Resource Management Department

Level 4: Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The aim of this training programme is to supply the current and future labor market with adequately trained semi-professional personnel in Community Development who will work efficiently and effectively in both public and private sectors.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum entry qualification for Basic Technician Certificate (NTA level 4) in Community Development shall be as follows:
(i) Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or its equivalent with at least four passes of grade “D”.
(ii) National Vocational Award (NVA level 3) recognized by Vocational Training Authorities with a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four passes of grade “D”

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The aim of this training programme is to supply the current and future labor market with adequately trained semi-professional personnel in Community Development who will work efficiently and effectively in both public and private sectors.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum entry qualification for Basic Technician Certificate (NTA level 4) in Community Development shall be as follows:
(i) Entry qualification for NTA Level 5 is strictly holders of Form VI (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass and one subsidiary pass
(ii) NTA Level four pass performances in Community Development or other related programmes

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The aim of this training programme is to supply the current and future labor market with adequately trained semi-professional personnel in Community Development who will work efficiently and effectively in both public and private sectors.

(i) Entry qualification for NTA Level 6 is strictly holders of Form VI (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass and one subsidiary pass
(ii) NTA Level four pass performances in Community Development or other related programmes

The Higher Diploma programme in Community Development targets form six leavers and holders of Ordinary Diploma in Community Development or related fields at NTA level 6 with second class pass.:
(i) Entry qualification for NTA Level 5 is strictly holders of Form VI (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass and one subsidiary pass
(ii) NTA Level four pass performances in Community Development or other related programmes
